"The Song Remains Insane" is a track of the self-titled album Soulfly, released in 1998. The song contains elements resembling both "Caos" by Ratos de Porão and "Attitude" by Sepultura. The song features Chico Science as additional vocalist.

The intro is a radio news broadcast talking about when Max was arrested in Brazil for (accidentally) stepping on the national flag at a Sepultura concert. The flag was handed to him by fans and had the Sepultura symbol in the middle. When he was opening the flag to show it to the audience he tripped and stepped on it. Stepping on the flag and the symbol in the middle of the flag violate Brazilian federal laws that protect their flag.

Lyrics Edit

Live your life
Not the way they taught you
Do what you feel
Survive the jungle
Give me blood
Give me pain

These scars won't heal
Can you take it
Can you take it
Can you take it

What were you thinking
What a wonderful world
You're full of shit
Leave it behind

They don't care if you cry,
All is left is pain
I won't take it
I won't take it
I won't take it

The song remains insane [repeated 13x]

I remain insane
