"Master of Savagery" is a Soulfly song included as the fifth track of the 2013 album Savages. Lyrics of this song talk about deceasing certain tyrannies. "Master of Savagery" contains grooves like songs from other Soulfly albums such as Prophecy, Dark Ages, and Soulfly, and the first rhythm resembles the first track of this album "Bloodshed". Bass solo begins about three minutes into the song, and then gets what Max Cavalera says "super heavy," causing him to debate about singing in this part while recording, "I was tempted to sing on top of it. I even tried once. Then I was like, 'No, let's leave it open, just let the music take control and be just this cool, heavy part on the song.'" The bass solo would follow into an eerie ambient outro.
Lyrics
Edit
Disciple gods of cyanide
Bewailing my final demise
Forever engraved within
Enslaved by my apathy
Master of savagery
Master... savage
Master of savagery
Master... savage
Dethroned the master, cut his head
The veil of trust is shattered
Forcing social regression
The swallow's ostentation
Master of savagery
Master... savage
Master of savagery
Master... savage
New age dogma darkened forms
In this hell beneath, I rot
Master of savagery
Master... savage
Master of savagery
Master... savage
Certain is suffering
Morbid premonition
Obliterate ourselves
Toxic death corrosion
