"Four Elements" is a track of the Soulfly album 3, released in 2002. The riff that begins this song resembles that of Slipknot album Iowa in style. Much of the lyrics of this song was copied off the Sepultura song "Clenched Fist". This song was formerly titled "Throwdown" before it was changed to "Four Elements" before track listing for the parent album was finalized, even though the word 'throwdown' is said in the lyrics, but not 'four elements'. The reason for the retitle was the line 'Heart, fist, soul, mind', which chanted four times over before getting to the ballad part, followed by another four times right before the song ends. Words in those lines are tools that guide people's lives: the soul, the fist, the mind and the heart. The representations are that man could feel, to fight if needed, to think and to love.

This song was covered live by couple other bands — Taste My Pain and Enerozero.

Lyrics Edit

I can't wait for another day
I can't fake, I can't pretend
I can't stand and watch you say
These things you don't understand

I can't wait till I get the chance
Looking down, staring in your face
Motherfuckers rip off my name
And pretend on your bullshit fame

I'll bring da shit
I'll throwdown
I'll make you bleed

I can't wait here comes the hate
Whatcha gonna do without your fame?
You don't bith the hands that feeds ya
You're going down, no money can save ya

I'll bring da shit
I'll throwdown
I'll make you bleed

Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind

Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind
Heart, fist, soul, mind
